As the MotoGP World Championship lands on European shores for the first time in 2017, the LCR Honda Team are excited to be back in Europe and also to have GIVI back as the Title Sponsor of this historic Grand Prix, arriving at the Spanish venue British rider Cal Crutchlow currently in fifth place overall in the standings.

The Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez de la Frontera is one of the classic races of the season, regularly seeing well over 100,000 fans packing the hillsides of the Andalusian circuit. Last year saw Cal pick up the first points of his season on a day where high temperatures made the track surface unbearably greasy. However, following strong rides in the last two events in the USA and Argentina, the 31 year-old and his LCR Honda Team are positive about another battle for podium positions.

Before heading to Spain, on Tuesday Crutchlow joined factory Honda colleagues Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa, as well as several other factory riders, in a Michelin tyre test at Le Mans, with the famous circuit having been resurfaced since the 2016 French Grand Prix.

“I’m looking forward to the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez because it’s the first race back in Europe, so it’s all a little closer to home. It’s a circuit that I enjoy, even if we didn’t have the greatest race there one year ago. However, this time I go there with high hopes and after a positive last couple of rounds there is no reason why we can’t go and do another good job in Jerez. We went to Le Mans on Tuesday for a test day but unfortunately the track condition was not fantastic because it rained in the night but I think they did a good job with the new asphalt and we were able to be quite in the pace”.
